Yogi Vemana University,Andhra pradesh

Yogi Vemana University is a newly established University in Kadapa district with West Campus at Idupulapaya. Earlier, it was a part of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. It is named after a great thinker, philosopher, and social reformer Yogi Vemana, the most celebrated Telugu poet and sage of all time.

The Central College, Bangalore (established in 1886) and the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) (established in 1912) (the two original institutions in Bangalore) were subsumed into this university. With the promulgation of the Karnataka State Universities Ordinance of 1975, which aimed at bringing uniformity to all universities in the state, the university lost its federal character and became a state-affiliated university. In 1973, the University moved to the Jnana Bharathi Campus located on 1,100 acres (4.5 km2) of land.

The University of Mysore is a public university in India. The University founded during the reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore. The university opened on 27 July 1916, with the first chancellor being the Maharaja of Mysore and the first Vice Chancellor being H. V. Nanjundaiah. The University became the first outside the domain of the English administration in India, the sixth University in India as a whole, and the first ever University in Karnataka. It is a state University of the affiliating type, and became autonomous on 3 March 1956, when it gained recognition from the University Grants Commission.

Karnataka State Women’s University, established in 2003 in the city of Bijapur is the only Women’s University in Karnataka dedicated exclusively for women's education. It is recognized under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. Seventy women’s colleges spread in twelve districts of North-Karnataka are affiliated to this University. The University offers various UG programmes leading to Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Commerce, Education, Fashion Technology, Home Science, Physical Education, Science and Social Work.
