Karnataka State Women’s University, established in 2003 in the city of Bijapur is the only Women’s University in Karnataka dedicated exclusively for women's education. It is recognized under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. Seventy women’s colleges spread in twelve districts of North-Karnataka are affiliated to this University. The University offers various UG programmes leading to Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Commerce, Education, Fashion Technology, Home Science, Physical Education, Science and Social Work.

The department is responsible for conducting the SSC/OSSC Public Examinations and a number of minor examinations. It was established in 1953 and functions as an autonomous body under the Andhra Pradesh's Department of Education.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (abbreviated CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of India. The first education board to be set up in India was the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education in 1921, which was under jurisdiction of Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior. In 1929 the government of India set up a joint Board named "Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana".
